An investigation has been released just after a educate derailed at a depot in Newcastle causing travel chaos.

Spectacular pictures showed the TransPennine Specific service coming off the tracks and smashing into the concrete in the vicinity of the Heaton depot at around 6.30am on Tuesday.

The coach did not have any commuters on board when it derailed and there ended up no accidents claimed.

The derailment led to widespread disruption on solutions in and out of Newcastle, with cancellations on other routes operated by London North Japanese Railway and Northern Rail.

The Rail Accident Investigation Department (RAIB) is investigating.

A TransPennine Categorical spokesman mentioned: “There will be big disruption to our solutions among Newcastle and Liverpool/ Edinburgh this early morning, pursuing a derailment in the course of a plan depot transfer by just one of our trains at Newcastle depot.

Disruption to expert services was cleared at close to 11am just after trains have been authorized to exit the Heaton depot.

The derailed educate continues to be at the scene as investigations just take spot prior to a restoration operation can commence.

A spokesperson for the government’s Rail Accident Investigation Branch additional: “The RAIB has been notified of an derailment which occurred this early morning at Heaton depot.
