Kai Sharpe, an organizer with the hotel’s union, UNITE Listed here local 40, will be talking to town council on Monday asking the metropolis not acquire portion or hold any events at the lodge right until the laid-off employees are reinstated and the labour dispute is resolved.
Sharpe is also inquiring the town to explain to all employees and contractors that expenses incurred at the Pacific Gateway Lodge will not be reimbursed.
The resort was designed into a quarantine centre in 2020, after which 143 employees were being laid off.
They have been picketing the hotel for about a yr.
