Update: I spoke to Google about this and they told me that that this is an current version (i.e. not new) of the Lodges device on Google Research, it initially released in December 2020 for desktop browsers. That this only ought to look when the user does not specify a area in their question. The objective of this is to aid searchers narrow down their alternatives, with facts on ordinary resort costs for the recommended places. Also, I am told that this up to date structure for this unit occupies the exact amount of vertical space on the page as the regular Google Research Hotels unit.
