5 Important Factors to Consider When Choosing a Hotel

5 Important Factors to Consider When Choosing a Hotel

When you are taking a vacation there are many different factors to consider when looking for a good hotel. In this article we will look at five factors which are, in my opinion, the most important things to consider when looking for a suitable hotel.

The first and most important factor to consider is of course the location of the hotel. If for example you are booking a family holiday with the other half, kids and grandparents then a hotel which is in a peaceful location and close to local attractions would be most suitable. If your visit was business related then it goes without saying that you want to be close to where ever it is you will conduct your business.

The second most important factor to consider is the hotels amenities. Find out if the hotel has the amenities you would expect to see such as a swimming pool and Wi-Fi. Hotels which offer the unexpected extras such as room service and laundry services should be shoved to the top of your list. It goes without saying that the more you get for your money the better.

When some people return from a holiday or a business trip they like to tell others about their experiences thorough reviews and testimonials. Look at some of the top hotel review sites such as late rooms, see what other people are saying. If the hotel you are looking at has a bad reputation then there will be a lot of bad reviews and you know its one to cross of your list.

Assuming you have ticked all the boxes for the previous mentioned factors then you should weigh up your top ten and compare what you get for your money. Look at the number of AA stars the hotel has, look at the amenities the hotel offers and look at all the other factors mentioned and decide on which of the hotels offer the best value for money. Look at the discounts and deals available for the time you wish to visit, you will often find that you can get more ‘bang for your buck’ by taking advantage of special deals and discounts.

The last factor I would consider when looking for a hotel is what transport services the hotel offers and what parking facilities are available. A lot of people forget to check this and get to their hotel only to find they don’t have any private parking for guests, and you have to spend an hour plus every time you return to the hotel looking for a public parking space. Not to mention the cost involved, the majority of public parking spaces have a short stay policy meaning you have to move every few hours and have to pay for the time you spend there.

Consider the 5 factors above when choosing your holiday accommodation and I’m sure you will have a great time with only good things to say when you return.
